Congratulations to our PhD students who are also pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Interdisciplinary Health Communication:

Diane Francis is Co-Prinicipal Investigator of a project, Evaluation of an Innovative Condom Distribution Program Targeting Young African  American Women, funded by the UNC Center for AIDS Research Developmental Award, $30,000, (Co-PI with Dr. Seth Noar)

Dannielle Kelley was awarded a $10,000 grant by UNC’s Center for Regulatory Research on Tobacco Communication to conduct a large content analysis of print e-cigarette advertisements.

Laura Marshall received two top-paper awards at the annual American Journalism Historians’ Association conference. Her paper, “Wartime Orchestration of Health Communication: North Carolina’s Good Health Campaign in the 1940s”  won an award for the Outstanding Paper on Media and War and also Honorable Mention for the Outstanding Student Paper.
